Blora, The Indonesia Post – Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo targets 95 percent of provincial-level roads to be in smooth condition by the end of 2022 as a form of accelerating infrastructure improvements.
“For road infrastructure, thank God, of the 2,404 kilometers of provincial roads, 90 percent are currently in very good condition and by the end of the year we are targeting to reach 95 percent,” he said while reviewing the process of repairing the Mulyorejo-Ngloram Road, Cepu District, Blora Regency, Wednesday.
He conveyed that until August 2022, it was recorded that around 90 percent of the damaged roads had been repaired.
According to him, the smooth road conditions are one of the supporting factors for the economic growth of the people of Central Java.
In the process of repairing a number of roads, Ganjar implemented a mutual cooperation budgeting system and one of the acceleration strategies carried out was by cooperating with regents and mayors in Central Java.
The number one person in Central Java emphasized that every project carried out using public money must be of good quality.
Therefore, regular checks are carried out to ensure that all projects run smoothly and are carried out properly.
“We check from our friends to see the quality, God willing, is good. I have the opportunity to see the process. We ask the Head of the Public Works Department of Highways to supervise. My message is plural, just don’t be corrupted, keep the quality,” he said.
The Public Works Department of Highways and Human Settlements (DPUBMCK) alerted monitoring officers to anticipate road damage due to natural disasters such as floods and landslides.
“We have anticipated various possibilities of damage to provincial roads during the rainy season due to the high intensity of rain that has fallen recently in several areas, one of which is deploying a road monitoring team,” said Head of Central Java Provincial DPUBMCK Hanung Triyono.
Officers always carry out routine monitoring of road conditions in their respective work areas to map and monitor provincial-level roads that are prone to landslides or prone to landslides during the rainy or flood season. (mhn/bbs)
