Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo welcomed the arrival of the Chairperson of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDIP) Megawati Soekarnoputri who arrived in Semarang City via Ahmad Yani International Airport.
Megawati came as the 5th President of the Republic of Indonesia to attend the Bhayangkara 76th Anniversary Ceremony at the Police Academy Building (Akpol) Semarang.
Megawati’s reception is known from uploading photos on Ganjar Pranowo’s Twitter account. In the photo, Ganjar, who is wearing a batik shirt, looks like he is about to greet Megawati. The daughter of the Proclaimer of the Republic of Indonesia Soekarno also responded to the reward by cupping her palms as if to shake hands.
“Welcome, Mother, to Semarang…,” tweeted Ganjar, Tuesday (5/7/2022).
Not only Megawati, Ganjar also welcomed President Joko Widodo and First Lady Iriana Jokowi who also attended the Bhayangkara Anniversary Ceremony.
“Welcome to Semarang, Mr. President @jokowi ..,” Ganjar tweeted in his follow-up post.
Jokowi becomes Bhayangkara’s 76th Anniversary Ceremony Inspector. The state officials were also present at the ceremony. Apart from Megawati Soekarnoputri, Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, former Vice President Jusuf Kalla, TNI General Andika Perkasa, and a number of officials to the National Police were also seen.
In his speech, Jokowi also wished the National Police a happy birthday. According to him, the authority of the National Police is very large, because it directly touches the people and reaches villages.
“On behalf of the people of the nation and state, I wish you a happy 76th Bhayangkara Day and give appreciation for the hard work of the Indonesian National Police in serving the people in defending the nation and state,” said Jokowi, at the Police Academy Building, Semarang, Tuesday (5/7/2022).
