The Detasemen Carry Out Special Supervision of The Ministry of Defense to Practice Gun Training with SS2 V5 A1

The Indonesia Post – The Detasemen carry out special supervision of the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Indonesia conducted shooting and weapons correction exercises which were held at the Kopassus Education and Training Center, Batujajar starting from 27 January 2021. The plan is that this activity will be carried out for 40 days. The weapons used in the training program were the Pindad SS2-V5 A1 and the G2 Combat pistol.

SS2-V5 A1 is one of the newest SS2 variants. It has an ergonomic design, is resistant to high humidity, has a lighter load, and can add to the comfort of the weapon user. SS2-V5 A1 is the latest version of the SS2-V5, where the most contrasting design is found on the SS2-V5 folding stock which is replaced by a telescopic model. In the hand guard, there are rails attached to the left, right, top and bottom to attach various accessories such as dampers to various types of telescopes.

The SS2-V5 A1 weapon is here to meet the needs of operations in the aspect of firing and shooting speed, equipped with a picatiny rail facility on both the side and top that functions for lasser points and flashlights, this is effective in indoor battles with low light.

The caliber of bullets used in the SS2-V5 A1 is of the NATO standard, namely 5.56 x 45 mm with an average of 700 rounds / minute. The bullet speed can reach up to 720 m / s with an effective range of 200.

Apart from using SS2-V5 A1 weapons, shooting training activities for the Special Guards Detachment of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense also used the G2 Combat Pistol. This shooting exercise was also carried out while still implementing health protocols in accordance with government directives.
