Present were Danrem 044/Gapo Brigadier General TNI Muhammad Thohir, S.Sos., M.M, Chair of the South Sumatra DPRD Dr.Hj RA Anita Noeringhati SH MH.

Pangdam II/Swj Maj. Gen. Yanuar Adil said that today Kodam II/Swj carried out TNI Manunggal Air, this activity was also combined with social service activities in the form of circumcision, Posyandu and distribution of basic necessities.

According to him, the TNI Manunggal Air activity is a flagship program of the TNI Army Chief of Staff (Kasad) and is being launched simultaneously throughout Indonesia.

“For Kodam II/Swj in 2023, 123 TNI Manunggal Air activities will be carried out, namely in the provinces of South Sumatra, Jambi Bengkulu, Lampung and Bangka Belitung Province,” said the Military Commander.

The Military Commander also emphasized that the aim of TNI Manunggal Air is to provide water to areas where water is very difficult, and then distribute the water to the community.

“We see that there are several areas where water is very difficult, that’s where TNI Manunggal Air is working. “I see that from the activities that have been carried out, some of them are supported by budget from the center, such as from Kostrad and some even from the regional government. These activities will continue until 2024,” he continued.

Furthermore, for the continuity of TNI Manunggal Air’s activities, it has now been attached to the TMMD, which if there is a TMMD there, TNI Manunggal Air activities will be carried out.

This water point is a source using a hydrant pump technique which is then piped, enters a reservoir, and then distributed to the community.

“This has been done, one example is where we are now holding the inauguration of TNI Manunggal Air. “We have also checked the water, then coordinated with PDAM to ensure whether the water is suitable for consumption or not, or can only be used for daily activities,” he said.

Regarding future priorities, the Military Commander explained that according to Kasad’s direction there were two, namely the first for the TNI units themselves, the second for the community specifically for TNI units such as those in Bengkulu. In South Sumatra, this is at Battalion 141/AJYP.

Meanwhile, for future community areas, we are still waiting for input from the local government regarding which areas need the Manunggal Air technique, and if there is one, a survey will be carried out before preparations are made.
Chairman of the South Sumatra DPRD Hj. R.A. Anita Noeringhati expressed her appreciation to Pangdam II/Swj for carrying out and providing support to the regions in terms of meeting their clean water needs, and it must be acknowledged that in the South Sumatra region there are still those who have not been detected with clean water.
“We appreciate that this program has provided a solution to meet the need for clean water, especially in Palembang City. We will encourage the City Government and Provincial Government to help implement TNI Manunggal Air activities in the future,” said the Golkar Party politician. (ojn/ril)
