Badung, The Indonesia Post – Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno targets as many as 30 million MSMEs or artisans to be able to onboard in online stores or marketplaces until 2023 through the National Movement for Proud Made in Indonesia (Gernas BBI).
Menparekraf Sandiaga Uno in his remarks during the Affirmation Action Proudly Made in Indonesia in Nusa Dua, Badung Regency, Bali, Friday, said that since its launch on May 14, 2020 to February 2022, Gernas BBI has succeeded in encouraging the opening of business opportunities and employment.
“An additional 5.5 million MSMEs/artisans enter the marketplace with a total of 17.2 million in 2021. This figure is targeted to increase by 57 percent to 30 million SMEs onboarding in 2023,” he said.
Sandiaga Uno, who also serves as the Daily Chair of Gernas BBI, explained that the achievement of Gernas BBI was due to the collaborative movement of various parties ranging from 29 ministries/agencies, local governments, SOEs, marketplace platforms, to top brands.
According to him, through the BBI Stimulus program, it was recorded that along with the distribution of National Economic Recovery (PEN) funds from October to December 2021, it had generated more than 150 thousand sales transactions related to the BBI Gernas Program.
“The transaction records resulted in a total value of Rp. 36 billion. One of the focuses of Gernas BBI going forward is the assistance of MSMEs for three months which aims to increase sales and use of technology and digitalization as the main target,” he said.
He believes that apart from purchases by the general public, government procurement of goods and services can contribute to increasing domestic product purchase transactions based on the experience of Gernas BBI 2020 and 2021.
“For this reason, the Affirmation Action for Purchasing and Utilization of Domestic Products in the framework of Gernas BBI by K/L, Regional Government, and BUMN has the potential to increase domestic product purchase transactions by Rp. 400 trillion this year. Yesterday, it was recorded at Rp. 214 trillion,” said Sandiaga.
He added that the purchase and use of Domestic Products (PDN) through e-catalogs and online stores has the potential to increase economic growth by 1.7 percent.
“We also convey to the President, that the role of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy in this Affirmation Action program is to encourage and ensure creative actors / creative industries / creative SMEs to join the LKPP e-Catalog as a showcase and marketplace for selling creative goods and services. them, so that they can be purchased by central and regional government agencies,” he said.
