Minister of Tourism: Digital-based marketing increases sales

Solo, The Indonesia Post – Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno said digital marketing or digital-based marketing is able to increase sales of business players’ products.

“We help with branding and digital marketing, how this promotion can increase their sales by up to 35 percent,” he said when visiting Hetero Space Solo, Central Java, Friday.

Regarding digital-based marketing, his party has also held dialogue with related ministries, one of which is the Ministry of Communication and Information regarding the use of social media.

“How can social media, which we can use as a promotional tool, not actually kill our MSMEs because the sales value is decreasing,” he said.

Moreover, he said, imports were also increasing, resulting in increasingly tighter competition.

“We have to ensure that MSMEs become players and create jobs. In this case, we collaborate,” he said.

He said collaboration had been carried out with social media Tiktok. Through Tiktok Shop, according to him, MSMEs will be helped in terms of promotion so they can increase turnover.

Moreover, according to him, currently Tiktok users in Indonesia have reached 100 million users. This is considered very high, plus internet users in Indonesia range from 8-9 hours/day.

“We are currently working on these regulations, which will definitely be able to empower MSMEs,” he said. (mhn/bbs)
