“Journalists are not enough just to have a press card, they must be ethical, have knowledge,” she said.

The head of the South Sumatra PWI, H Firdaus Komar, said that the UKW was a staged process towards the competence of a professional journalist.

“Thank you SKK Migas for their cooperation, also to the Chairperson of the South Sumatra DPRD, Anita Noeringhati and representatives of the South Sumatra Attorney General’s Office. All of them become partners of the press,” said Firdaus Komar, while giving a speech at the 38th UKW. Thursday (14/7).

It was said, the activity with the theme ‘With the Competency Test Creating Ethical, Professional and Insightful Journalists, the UKW participants were 18 journalists from various media.

“There are 18 participants, there are UKW, Young, Middle and Main,” he said.

Head of SKK Migas Sumbagsel, Anggono Mahendrawan said that supporting the South Sumatra PWI activities was aimed at improving the quality of journalists and increasing SKK Migas’ good cooperation with journalists.

“I hope that the best ideas and ideas will emerge to increase journalists’ insight,” It is said, SKK Migas also has a responsibility to improve the competence of journalists for the good of all parties.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Advocacy and Defense of PWI Journalists, H Oktaf Riadi, asked reporters not to be tempted by the UKW being held outside the Press Council.
