Palembang, The Indonesia Post – South Sumatra Governor H. Herman Deru officially opened the 54th PKK Movement Unity Day (HKG) Commemoration which was combined with the PKK Consultation Meeting (Rakon) and the 2026 South Sumatra Province Dekranasda Regional Working Meeting (Rakerda). This activity took place at the Aryaduta Hotel Palembang on Wednesday (1/4/2026),
In his remarks, Governor Herman Deru expressed his appreciation for the event, which demonstrated the commitment of the Family Welfare Movement (PKK) and the Regional Handicraft Council (Dekranasda) to supporting efficiency programs without compromising the essence and spirit of community service. He emphasized that the PKK is the “state’s mainstay” for directly reaching the community, right down to the grassroots level.
“The PKK must always be adaptive and continually innovate. As part of a non-profit-oriented government, the PKK plays a strategic role in building community quality,” he said.
The Governor also highlighted the importance of Dekranasda’s role in preserving and developing regional crafts, particularly the traditional textiles of South Sumatra. He encouraged regents and mayors to provide display space to promote local products, while also ensuring optimal production and marketing processes.
Meanwhile, Feby Herman Deru, Chair of the South Sumatra Family Welfare Movement (TP PKK), emphasized that the family is the smallest unit in society and plays a significant role in development. Therefore, strengthening the 10 Main Programs of the PKK is not just a program, but an investment in the future.
“This commemoration momentum should strengthen synergy so that the PKK program’s benefits are increasingly felt by the community, especially in creating healthy, independent, and prosperous families,” he said.
The event’s organizing committee chair and expert staff member for the South Sumatra Family Welfare Movement (PKK), Hj. Lidyawati Cik Ujang, stated that the event, which took place on April 1-2, 2026, aimed to align and synchronize the provincial PKK program with those at district/city levels throughout South Sumatra.
