Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The Indonesian national team became the overall champion of the 2022 Wing Chun World Championship which was organized by the parent organization of the world’s wing chun, Ving Tsun Athletic Association (VTAA), on Sunday (30/10) in Hong Kong.
In the online world championships, Indonesia, which fielded 22 athletes, won the overall champion status with five gold, six silver and eight bronze medals.
They competed in a number of competition numbers, both junior and senior for the categories of Siu Lim Tao, Chum Kiu, and Biu Gee.
“Thank God. The Indonesian Wing Chun National Team has won the overall champion again at this world championship. This is a gift for Indonesia on the momentum of the Youth Pledge on October 28,” said Indonesian national team manager Maulana Zaenal in a press release received in Jakarta, Monday.
The five golds were won by Christoffer Austin Neilthong in the junior chum kiu, Deviyana Leman in the women’s chum kiu, Lie Revano in the men’s chum kiu, Odilia Calista Ruby Wuriandono in the junior biu gee, and Rizky Fitria al Fahmi in the senior women’s biu gee.
The 2022 Wing Chun World Championship will be participated by 11 countries, namely Singapore, Malaysia, Myanmar, Japan, Macau, Taiwan, Hong Kong, China, England, France, Spain and Indonesia.
