Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru (HD) attended the event as well as opened the Musabaqoh Tilawatil Qur’an (MTQ) and Tahfidz Qur’an Competition for High School (SMA) and State Vocational High Schools throughout South Sumatra organized by SMA Negeri 5 Palembang.
Through his speech, HD said that it was already a noble act to plan for the MTQ and Tahfidz Qur’an competitions. Especially now that it has been opened, of course it gets more reward value.
HD also said that the competition was in line with realizing the Vision and Mission of the HDMY Leadership in making South Sumatra Religious.
“To the ranks of the education office to be able to help spread the Qur’an memorizers and build Qur’an memorization activities in schools from elementary to high school levels, which will later be evaluated and selected to represent South Sumatra in participating in the next MTQ competition”, said HD .
In addition, HD also emphasized that students must be equipped with a confident mentality that can be honed through competition activities, such as those currently being carried out.
“This lack of self-confidence is a problem that can make superior seeds invisible due to lack of confidence”, said HD.
HD also emphasized to the students who were present that mental self-confidence is an important factor that every student must have in achieving success
“Dare to appear is a very dominant role to achieve success”, said HD.
Meanwhile, the Principal of SMA N 5 Palembang, Drs. Taufik, M.Si reported that the MTQ and Tahfidz Qur’an competitions were held from 31 October 2022 to 02 November 2022, which was attended by 178 contestants consisting of 77 participants and Hafidz 101 participants from 47 schools from several Districts in South Sumatra.
