President Jokowi believes that Indonesia-Malaysia cooperation is getting stronger

Bogor, The Indonesia Post – Indonesian President Joko Widodo believes that cooperation between Indonesia and Malaysia will get stronger following the leadership of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Malaysia.

“I am sure that under Pak Anwar’s leadership, the cooperation between Indonesia and Malaysia will get stronger,” said President Jokowi in a joint statement with Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim after the meeting of the two leaders at the Bogor Presidential Palace, West Java, Monday.

Jokowi stated that it was an honor for Indonesia to receive Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s first overseas visit after being sworn in. He also again congratulated Anwar on the inauguration as the 10th Prime Minister of Malaysia.

According to Jokowi, Malaysia is not only a neighboring country that is close to Indonesia, but also an allied country and has a very strong relationship.

Meanwhile Anwar Ibrahim expressed his highest appreciation to President Jokowi for inviting him to come to Indonesia.

According to Anwar, relations between Malaysia and Indonesia are not ordinary diplomatic relations. He emphasized that Indonesia has a special place in his heart.

On that occasion Anwar also said that Jokowi had very good experience in leading the country, and he really appreciated it.

“Once again I thank you and I am very moved to make a decision that I feel is appropriate, choosing Indonesia as the first country I visited and visited. And I feel very happy with the attitude and personal friendship and brotherhood of the President and the willingness of colleagues to help and facilitate,” said Anwar. (mhn/bbs)
