Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The Coordinating Minister (Menko) for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said that Indonesia is committed to reducing the amount of carbon emissions in the energy sector by 358 million tons of CO2e by 2030.

“Through enhanced NDC, Indonesia is committed to reducing carbon emissions in the energy sector by 358 million tons of CO2e in 2030 through the application of energy efficiency, increased use of renewable energy, application of clean energy technology for power generation, use of low-carbon fuels, and post-mining reclamation. ,” said Coordinating Minister Airlangga who attended the virtual event ‘The 4th Indonesia Energy Efficiency and Conservation Conference and Exhibition’ in Jakarta, Thursday.

Coordinating Minister Airlangga said the government showed this commitment by issuing Indonesia’s “Long Term Strategy for Low Carbon and Climate Resilience 2050” as a form of commitment to the Paris Agreement.

Indonesia’s commitment to achieve net zero emissions by 2060 is part of the transformation needed in efforts to become a developed country in 2045.
