PALEMBANG, The Indonesia Post – The 2020 South Sumatra Spice Festival will be the annual agenda of the South Sumatra Family Welfare Driving Team (TP PKK) as a program to empower and prosper families through the PKK movement. This was revealed by the Head of TP PKK Sumsel Hj. Febrita Lustia HD when handing over the trophy of the winner of the competition at the 2020 South Sumatra Spice Festival at the Palace of the Governor of Griya Agung Palembang, Sunday (25/10).
“Congratulations and appreciation to the participants who have participated in the 2020 South Sumatra Spice Festival. I hope that events like this can always be held which aims to raise the potential of the region,” she said.
She said the holding of the Spice Festival was intended to provide opportunities for MSME business actors to carry out promotions so that they could continue to exist in the midst of an unfavorable economic situation due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“My team and I plan to hold this event regularly every year, of course with a different nuance,” she explained.
It is hoped that similar activities can also be carried out at the district / city level in South Sumatra, so that the goals of the PKK will be achieved, namely to empower and prosper families through the PKK Movement.
“Hopefully this festival will provide benefits for our respective regions as well as all of us,” she said.
There were various competitions held at the 2020 South Sumatra Spice Festival, namely the best stand competition in the PKK category, the best stand competition for the general category / women’s organization, and a vegetable arranging competition.
For the best stand competition in the PKK category, Empat Lawang won first place, East OKU Regency won second place, and Prabumulih city won third place.
Furthermore, for the best stand competition in the general category / women’s organization, the first winner was won by Bhayangkari South Sumatra, the second winner was the Association of Wives and Workers of Bank Sumsel Babel, and Persit Kartika Chandra Kirana PD II Sriwijaya won the third winner.
Meanwhile, for the vegetable arranging competition, Lubuk Linggau City won first place, while Musi Rawas Utara Regency (Muratara) won second place, and East OKU Regency won third place.
After handing over the trophy and prizes for the winners of the Feby Deru competition, the opportunity to enliven the series of the 2020 South Sumatra Spice Festival this time roasted kemplang with the Chairman of Persit Kartika Chandra Kirana Regional Management (PD) II Sriwijaya Shinta Agus, along with members of the South Sumatra PKK TP
With a happy and happy face, while lying on the floor, Feby Deru looked cool and enjoyed the process of grilling kemplang using brazier and charcoal.
“Grilling kemplang is one of the 2020 South Sumatra Spice Festival events. Grilled kemplang is liked by everyone. It can be used as a complementary snack or dish. By roasting kemplang together we can know the baking process which requires patience,” she said.
Feby explained, as the name implies, kemplang which is a piece of pempek is dried in the sun first then grilled over coals.
“The color will not be as clean as cracker and brittle kemplang. Baked kemplang is identical to the color of old brown and is usually enjoyed with chili sauce,” she said. (ray/ril)
