Palembang, The Indonesia Post – South Sumatra Governor H. Herman Deru attended the Zakat Payment through Baznas and the Online Launch of the Love Zakat Movement.
President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi) accompanied by Vice President Ma’ruf Amin who was present at the Presidential Palace appreciated and supported the BAZNAS program, especially in poverty alleviation and maintaining trust so that people can enjoy zakat.
“BAZNAS is asked to explore potential with innovation and apply digitalization technology in managing zakat management,” he said.
Shortly after the event, HD said that the activities carried out by Baznas were not Sunnah but we must support the Zakat program because it is an obligation issued for Muslims to share with those who are entitled to receive it.
Chairman of the National Zakat Agency (Baznas), Noor Achmad, campaigns for the Love Zakat Movement as an effort to maximize the potential of zakat for the welfare of society.
The Love Zakat Movement aims to further encourage the presence of zakat, infaq and alms (ZIS) in the community, as well as ensure that its distribution is right on target to those in need, especially the poor. (jek/ril)
