Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru, said that as a leader, he was proud to see the increasing number of South Sumatra teenagers who were aware of the knowledge of religion. This certainly encourages South Sumatra to become religious.
This was conveyed during the release of the Islamic Students back to the Darussalam Gontor Modern Islamic Boarding School.
“My message is to take care of yourself, protect the good name of South Sumatra, and especially to bring home a certificate,” said Governor Herman Deru (HD).
“To parents, I understand the expression in sending their children to study, but replace that expression with a prayer,” he asked.
HD Hopes that when the students have graduated, they can return to serve the South Sumatra Province to be able to help Tahfidz’s house to broadcast Islam.
For information, there are 675 students who departed from, with locations in Java, Lampung and Padang with mentors from all districts. (ojn/ril)
