Kendari, TheIndonesiaPost – Southeast Sulawesi Education and Culture Office has an extraordinary breakthrough. They prepared financial assistance for poor students affected by Corona.
Assistance in the form of cash is worth Rp 1 million. The money will be given to every student in Southeast Sulawesi. “Based on the provincial government data, there are at least 3 thousand poor students. The student was also considered to be the most entitled person to get help from the government in terms of reducing the impact felt by poor students due to the Covid-19 pandemic,” said the head of the Southeast Sulawesi Culture and Education Office, Asrun Lio, quoted from Kendaripos.co.id.
“Assistance in the form of cash. The distribution will be almost the same as the provision of scholarships for underprivileged students which we have submitted some time ago,” he added.
Assistance is not only distributed to students. Teachers from the high school, vocational school to high school level will also be assisted. The value is around Rp1.5 million going for the next three months. In total there are around 300 honorary teachers who will receive the stimulus.
“Especially for those who have not received a decree from the governor. Plans (assistance) of approximately Rp. 1.5 million over three months. But it will still change, depending on the size of the budget that is put in place in handling Covid-19, “he explained.
Separately, Southeast Sulawesi Governor Ali Mazi said that his party was not only focused on dealing with the COVID-19 plague. But it also began to prepare steps to carry out economic recovery according to the instructions of the central government.
“The priority sectors are tourism and exports,” he said after opening the Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Development Planning Meeting (Musrenbang) in the framework of preparing a 2021 work plan with the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of National Development Planning Agency through a video conference from Rujab Governor of Southeast Sulawesi, Wednesday (29/4).
Ali Mazi said all development activities and other activities were hampered by the coronavirus pandemic. Based on strategic issues, development targets, and priorities in the RPJMD, the development of Southeast Sulawesi in 2021 is an increase in basic infrastructure, territoriality, and human resources to support the agricultural, tourism, and investment industries for quality growth. There are four main priorities in it.
“First, improving the quality of people’s lives and eradicating access to basic services. Second, increasing the competitiveness of the regional economy through increasing the added value of leading sectors, especially tourism and exports. Third, good governance. The fourth is related to reducing disparities between regions through improving basic infrastructure and regions to support connectivity, “explained Ali Mazi.
These priorities will be the direction in formulating development policies in 2021 as an effort to achieve national and regional development goals and objectives. “The achievement of regional development goals and objectives is a benchmark for the successful development of Southeast Sulawesi in 2018-2023 with the vision of the realization of a Southeast Sulawesi that is safe, advanced, prosperous, and dignified. I hope that we all unite and work together so that we can get out of the current condition so that we can carry out the planned development agenda, “said the husband of Agista Ariany.
