Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini said the disbursement of social assistance (bansos) for the elderly (elderly), orphans, and people with disabilities in December 2022.
Social Minister Risma, in her statement received in Jakarta, Tuesday, said that the budget for the social assistance has been approved by Bappenas and the Ministry of Finance.
She said that the Ministry of Social Affairs is currently preparing a mechanism so that the distribution of the social assistance, one of which is the food assistance program for the elderly and single family persons with disabilities, from the RT to the kelurahan to prevent the misuse of social assistance.
“So this social assistance is for the elderly over 80 years old, but we also help those with disabilities, as well as orphans, we give in December,” said Social Minister Risma.
The distribution of the social assistance will follow the data recorded in the Ministry of Social Affairs for single families. The policy regarding food assistance will be submitted to the environmental responsibility of the beneficiary.
Previously, the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) had prepared an additional budget allocation of Rp493 billion to the Ministry of Social Affairs (Kemensos) for the distribution of social assistance to the elderly, orphans, and people with disabilities.
According to data from the Ministry of Social Affairs, the number of elderly people over 80 years old who are candidates for social assistance recipients is 334,023 people. Then, there were 946,863 orphans and 98,934 people with disabilities. (mhn/bbs)
