49th Plenary Session of the South Sumatra DPRD: Provincial Government Asked to Follow Up on School Nomenclature

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Member of Commission V of the South Sumatra Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD), Rizal Kenedi asked the South Sumatra Provincial Government through the relevant OPD to immediately follow up on problems with the nomenclature of several schools in South Sumatra.

The report was disclosed by Rizal after his party found several schools whose nomenclature had changed. For example, SMAN 1 Lembak which turned into UPT SMAN 13 Muara Enim.

Therefore, Rizal asked the South Sumatra Provincial Government in this case the Education Office to immediately follow up on this problem in order to minimize the losses that would occur.

“There are several schools outside Palembang that we got the nomenclature has changed. We ask that this matter be immediately followed up by the Education Office because one of the effects of this will be to change the school registration number,” said Rizal on the sidelines of the 49th Plenary Meeting of the South Sumatra DPRD, Monday (30/05).

Rizal added, in addition to being able to change the school registration number, another impact of this nomenclature change is the problem in the distribution of BOS funds and diplomas from students studying at the school.

Responding to the instruction, the Governor of South Sumatra, Herman Deru, said that his party would immediately follow up on the problem by coordinating with the related OPD.

“In the near future we will immediately follow up, I tasked the Regional Secretary to coordinate with the Education Office,” concluded Deru. (mhn/bbs/ril)
