Herman Deru gave a surprise to the Indonesian Veterans Legion (LVRI) by presenting Sriwijaya Military Commander II Major General Agus Suhardi, who entered the office for the first time after being sworn in in Jakarta last week.

“This is the first day that Pangdam II Sriwijaya arrives, after the handover yesterday. I sneaked into his office, in an atmosphere he didn’t expect. I invited him to come here, pay my respects and give an appreciation to the veterans who have made such an extraordinary contribution to this country. We are the successors that we would not have been possible without. Thank you veterans, thank you fighters, “he said when he was met after attending the National Veterans Day (Harvetnas) Commemoration Friendly, at the DPRD Building, LVRI, South Sumatra Province (10/8).

In his remarks, the Governor of South Sumatra Province H. Herman Deru read the speech of the General Chairperson of the LVRI Central Leadership Council. He said that National Veterans Day was an award to the Freedom Fighters for their sacrifices during the Revolutionary period.

“The theme that is carried out in accordance with the main task of the 45 Legion of Veterans Kejuangan to the next generation is also right to be confronted with the current national condition, where moral values. like togetherness, loyal friends, diversity is starting to be abandoned, on the other hand wanting to be happy (to enrich oneself) which in the end “corruption” will emerge, “he said.

According to him, corruption is a very despicable crime, robbing people of money and state assets, leading to division.

“In commemoration of National Veterans Day this time, the Indonesian Veterans Legion held a Symposium to discuss the importance of human resource development. To all veterans everywhere to maintain cooperation and good relations with the local government, become role models and pioneers in society, “he concluded. (ojn/rel)
