Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Chairperson of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Puan Maharani, checks the prices of basic commodities ahead of Eid Al-Fitr 1443 Hijri/2022.
“As we all know, the prices for some basic food commodities have started to rise and I want to know the problems faced by the community so that we can find solutions with the government,” said Puan in a statement in Jakarta, Monday.
Puan will make a two-day working visit in Central Java. There are several activities that will be carried out by Puan, including checking the prices of basic necessities ahead of Eid Al-Fitr 1443 H.
During a working visit on 26-27 April 2022, Puan will visit Solo City, Karanganyar Regency, Wonogiri Regency, and Sragen Regency.
On the first day, Puan will attend the opening of the technical guidance (Bimtek) of the Smart Indonesia Card at the Sunan Solo Hotel. Then, the first woman who served as Chair of the Indonesian House of Representatives went to Wonogiri to open the Clean Water program for the Gendayakan Village community.
“The people of Gandayakan Village have had water difficulties because they are in a dry and limestone area. We are grateful that the clean water project has been completed so that in the future it can help the daily lives of residents,” said Puan.
After leaving Gandayakan Village, Puan will also check the implementation of the Home Renovation program for uninhabitable houses (RTLH) in Wonogiri.
Then starting the work on the second day on 27 April 2022, Puan will pay a visit to Jongke Market, Karanganyar Regency. She wanted to directly check the prices of food needs ahead of Eid.
After going from Jongke Market, Puan will inaugurate the Mount Kemukus tourist attraction in Sragen which will be polished with a new icon, namely The New Kemukus. Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Basuki Hadimuljono will also attend.
“We hope that The New Kemukus which is the new icon of Sragen will further increase tourism in the Regency,” said Puan.
The former Coordinating Minister for PMK is also scheduled to provide cart assistance for a number of MSMEs at The New Kemukus. Puan believes that the new tourist attraction will improve the economy of the residents around Mount Kemukus.
“The hope is that the economic acceleration in Sragen will also increase,” she said.
Local residents are enthusiastic about the inauguration of The New Kemukus. To enliven the activity, residents painted their houses in colors to make them Kampung Pelangi.
Meanwhile, Deputy Regent of Wonogiri Setyo Sukarno appreciated Puan who would attend the opening of the clean water program in her area. According to him, so far, the residents of Gandayakan Village have always experienced drought and lack of clean water.
“Residents usually rely on rainwater because the condition of the land which is hilly with rocks is difficult to build wells. Now from natural water sources, water is channeled through pipes to people’s homes. Thank you, Mrs. Puan, for attending the opening of the clean water program in Wonogiri,” he said. (ojn/bbs)
