“The importance of interpreting Eid al-Adha at this time is to awaken a sincere soul in self-devotion to Allah, which is proven by carrying out His commandments and staying away from His prohibitions. “Including the willingness to sacrifice animals and all forms of good deeds that bring goodness to life in this world and the hereafter,” he said.
In line with the wisdom of Eid al-Adha as the Day of Eid al-Sacrifice, A. Fatoni said that today is the right moment for everyone to hone their sincerity and social concern for others and build their qualities as individuals who are patient, test-resistant and strong in facing trials. life.
“We hope that this needs to be our common concern, to create a culture of mutual cooperation and make South Sumatra Province more advanced,” he said.
He also added that the sacrificial event which is carried out every year by Muslims throughout the world, should no longer be interpreted as just a ritual process, but should also be placed in the context of strengthening human values and the spirit of justice.
“Eid al-Adha means the example of Ibrahim who was able to transform religious messages into real action for humanitarian struggle. This event must be interpreted as a religious symbolic message, which shows Abraham’s devotion, sincerity and submission to the command of his creator. “We must emulate this together to become better people,” he concluded, ending his remarks.
Meanwhile, General Chairperson of the Palembang Grand Mosque Foundation Management, IR. KGS. H. Abdul Rozak, M.SC, said that on Eid al-Adha 1445 H this year, the Palembang Grand Mosque received 14 cows and 9 goats for sacrificial animals which would be slaughtered and distributed to the community around the mosque.
“We would like to thank all parties who have provided these sacrificial animals, we will carry out the slaughter properly and we will distribute them to the families around this great mosque,” he said.
He also conveyed that the Simultaneous Sacrifice Movement throughout South Sumatra had been opened by Acting. Governor of South Sumatra, A. Fatoni yesterday (Sunday, 17/6/2024). This policy had an impact by increasing the number of sacrificial animals received by the Palembang Grand Mosque Management.
