White House: President Biden will visit Indonesia November 13-16

Washington, D.C., The Indonesia Post – United States President Joe Biden will visit Indonesia on November 13-16, 2022 to attend the G20 Summit in Bali, the White House said in a statement Friday (28/10).

Before going to Indonesia, said the office of the US president, Biden will visit Egypt and Cambodia.

In Bali, the US president will work with his partners to address key challenges, such as climate change and the global impact of the war on Ukraine — including security and purchasing power of energy and food, the White House said.

Biden on that occasion will also discuss a series of other priorities related to efforts to recover the global economy.

Meanwhile on his visit to Egypt, Biden will participate in the United Nations summit on climate change, COP27.

At the summit to take place on November 11, Biden will make a call to the world to act “in this defining decade”, his office said.

From Egypt, the White House said, Biden will travel to Cambodia on November 12-13 to attend the US-ASEAN Summit and the East Asia Summit.

While in Cambodia, Biden will underline the United States’ enduring commitment to Southeast Asia, while underscoring the importance of US-ASEAN cooperation in ensuring security and prosperity in the region, said White House spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre.

The White House also revealed that US Vice President Kamala Harris will travel to Asia and North Africa following Biden’s series of visits.

Harris will also travel to Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, to attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit on November 18-19 and emphasize the US commitment to economic cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.

In addition, the White House said, Harris will also visit Manila, Philippines, for meetings with government leaders and representatives of civil society. (mhn/bbs)
