Commission I South Sumatera DPRD Gathers Parties Related to Compensation Land PT SGLPI

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Commission I of the South Sumatra Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD) (South Sumatra) brought together residents of Tanjung Menang Village, Rambang Niru District, Muaraenim Regency with PT Shenhua Guohuan Lion Power Indonesia (SGLPI) for the construction of the South Sumatra 1 mine mouth steam power plant, related to the issue of compensation for residents’ land which was not transparent, Thursday ( 19/5) in the Commission I meeting room of the South Sumatra DPRD.

The meeting was chaired by the Chairman of Commission I of the South Sumatra DPRD, Antoni Yuzar and other members of the Commission I of the South Sumatra DPRD.

In this meeting, the residents were represented by their legal representative, Yusmaheri SH, HRD PT SGLPI, Juli, local sub-district and village parties and residents in dispute.

According to Yusmaheri, during the process of compensating for his client’s land with the company, it turned out that the residents only signed one blank receipt and the amount of compensation was not stated.

“In addition, there are also residents who have sold land to the company but so far the residents have not received compensation from the company, so seeing this, we as legal counsel for the residents have asked the South Sumatra DPRD, in this case Commission I, can help the problems faced by the residents,” he said after the meeting.

Meanwhile, PT SGLPI’s HRD, Juli admitted that his party will try to solve the problems experienced by the residents so that there will be comfort between the residents and the company.

“If we are part of the points from the company, we just find out, we are looking for follow-up, we will definitely cooperate, we can’t get out of hand,” he said.

Meanwhile, the chairman of Commission I of the South Sumatra DPRD, Antoni Yuzar, said that in the meeting the company sent people who did not understand the problem, namely that the residents were concerned about receiving compensation but never signing the receipt.

“Then the land that was compensated was only a few percent and a few percent were still left and it couldn’t be seen where the documents were still in the hands of the company, that was also a problem,” said the PKB politician.

His party suggested to the company that in the future for the next meetings it should be equipped with data and facts, meaning that what the community is arguing about regarding compensation and the land that is still controlled must be answered with facts and document data.

“The company must be open and transparent that if the land they control is released, we want proof in the form of a certificate, which is the basis for the rights, because according to the residents’ version, not all of the rights that are controlled by the company are compensated and the compensation is signed by residents with blank receipts, it should be Compensation through the government through the sub-district head or notary is correct, but this is a process between individuals, companies and citizens, not involving the relevant agencies,” he said.

Apart from that, according to Antoni, the result of the meeting was that his party was still managing the time and schedule and his party asked to complete supporting documents from the resident’s lawyers so that there would be a bright spot on this problem.

“We will also schedule visits to the field,” he said. (mhn/bbs/ril)
