Jakarta, Berita Rakyat Sumatera – South Sumatra Governor H. Herman Deru held a Friday Prayer at Al-Manthoor Mosque Sultan Mahmud Badarudin II Airport in Palembang, Friday (24/7). Also present were the Military Commander II / Sriwijaya Maj. Gen. Irwan, South Sumatra Regional Police Chief Irjen Pol Prof Dr Eko Indrai, and other officials.
In this Friday prayer, Herman Deru said that in the coming days Muslims will celebrate Eid al-Adha Day 1441 H, where the Eid al-Adha celebration this year is not like last year considering the Covid-19 pandemic.
Moreover, according to him, this year’s Eid al-Adha is not in conjunction with the Hajj pilgrims but does not diminish the meaning of Eid al-Adha itself.
“Although Eid al-Adha does not coincide with pilgrims this has tested our taboo, it is compelled to be on the next hajj. I, together with South Sumatra Province Forkompimda, beg for the taboo to the people of South Sumatra. But Eid al-Adha does not diminish the meaning of worship itself. “he said.
In fact, the HD spirit of Sacrifice for the people of South Sumatra this year is more than in previous years. “We are thankful that this year’s Qurban Sacrifice is more than last year, meaning that the spirit of the Qurban is very high,” he said.
In carrying out Eid al-Adha later, HD urges people to keep abreast of health protocols and maintain physical distancing and keep wearing masks.
“My message to the people of South Sumatra the implementation of Eid al-Adha remains with the requirements of the Health Protocol and physical distancing, the most important thing is to use a mask,” he concluded. (ojn/rel)
