Located at Jembatan 2 Barelang Batam, This Company Invests IDR 7.2 Trillion

Batam, The Indonesia Post – The Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan attended the inauguration and operation of the PT Batam Slop and Sludge Treatment Center (BSSTEC) sewage treatment plant at Jembatan II Barelang, (18/3).

Together with Luhut, there were also the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam) Mahfud MD, the Minister of Trade (Mendag) Muhammad Lutfi as well as the Governor of the Riau Islands Ansar Ahmad, as well as the Mayor and Head of BP Batam, Muhammad Rudi.

Arriving at the location, the group immediately went around monitoring the factory.

“We appreciate the presence of this factory. This industry is an industry that we must encourage because it is clean energy, ”said Luhut.

He said that the factory, with an investment of up to Rp 7.2 trillion, will carry out tank cleaning.

As is well known, Batam is a crossroads area for ship traffic. Thousands of ships each year pass through the waters close to Batam.

In the future, Luhut hopes that the Batam Government and the Riau Islands Provincial Government will encourage MSMEs to enter the realm of this industry.

“I think this will make this country cleaner and Batam will progress,” he said.

He invited all stakeholders to work hand in hand to realize not only the local government but also ask the TNI Polri to take part. (ojn/bbs)
