Aceh, The Indonesia Post – Regent of Aceh Barat Daya (Abdya) Akmal Ibrahim said that working to earn a legal living for his wife and children at home is a form of worship that has more value in the eyes of Allah SWT.
“Working and trying to get halal sustenance with a sincere intention to support the family, then Allah SWT promises a reward for them to work,” he said in Blangpidie, Monday.
This was conveyed by the Regent on the sidelines of laying the groundwork for the construction of the Baitul Izzah Mosque, in Keude Paya Village, Blangpidie District. There were elements of the Forkopimkab, scholars, and hundreds of people.
Regent Akmal asked the scholars to convey in the tausiah that life in the world is not just performing worship alone. However, it is also mandatory to try and work.
Because they work and try to find lawful sustenance to support their children and wife at home, it is the responsibility of the head of the family in terms of improving the family’s economy. In addition, it also works to avoid disbelief.
“According to the hadith of Rasullah SAW, narrated by Abu Na’im, which means poverty is close to kufr. So, let’s pray and work to find a lawful sustenance, so that someday we will avoid this confusion, ”he said.
In addition, the Regent also expressed his appreciation to the people of Keude Paya Village, Blangpidie, for being quite enthusiastic in giving alms to help build the Baitul Izzah Mosque.
“The spirit of the community to give alms to build a mosque is a very noble act. But, other worship must also be prioritized, such as supporting orphans is obligatory. If not, then he will become a religious liar, “said Akmal.
The same applies to poor people, said Regent Akmal, local government programs so far have almost 100 percent touched the welfare of the lower class.
For example, programs in the agricultural, marine sector and even currently developing a plantation program for the poor by utilizing land in the mountains for planting jengkol plants.
“Why do I make programs in the sea, in the fields and even in the mountains? Because there are many poor people there. With this program, their economy will increase, if they are diligent in trying and working. Then, I was afraid to become a religious liar, “he said.
Therefore, he emphasized that working for a living and improving the economy is an obligation. Through the Ulama Consultative Assembly (MPU) Abdya should convey this to the public, so that with the abilities he has in the future he is able to help other Muslims.
“I hope to the scholars to convey to the people that working for a lawful living is obligatory. People not working or being lazy are a sin because they violate obligatory fardhu. When one job is finished, then another job, when it’s finished we work tawakal with Allah, SWT, “said Akmal Ibrahim. (ojn/bbs)
