Minister Risma: Planting trees brings charity

Bekasi, The Indonesia Post – The Chairperson of the PDI Perjuangan Party DPP (PDIP) who is also the Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini said that tree planting activities can bring charity.

“So we plant for us to do charity. If the tree releases oxygen that humans can breathe, then we will receive continuous rewards,” Risma said while giving a speech at the opening of the National Greening Program on the banks of the Kalimalang River, Lambang Sari Village, South Tambun, Bekasi, West Java, Sunday.

Present on the occasion were the Chairperson of the PDIP DPP Sukur Nababan, the Chairperson of the West Java PDIP DPD Ono Surono and his staff, Member of the Republic of Indonesia DPR Rieke Diah Pitaloka, Member of the Republic of Indonesia DPR Nico Siahaan, and Acting Regent of Bekasi Regency Dani Ramdan.

By planting trees, he said, PDIP cadres were not only carrying out orders from PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri. However, more than that, the activity of caring for plants is a religious order.

According to him, many benefits can be generated, such as maintaining soil structure to prevent flooding, because water can be absorbed and stored in tree roots.

“So ladies and gentlemen, we don’t have to say much. We can prove that what is ordered, not only the party rules, but religion orders it. It’s as if we are accused of being a party that has no religion, but we can take care of what religion orders,” he said again.

The Chairperson of the PDIP DPP Sukur Nababan launched the National Greening Program representing General Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri and the PDI Perjuangan DPP.

“Caring for the earth is caring for life itself. And that is part of the struggle of the PDI Perjuangan. On behalf of the Chairperson Prof. Dr. Hajjah Megawati Soekarnoputri and the DPP PDI Perjuangan, we hereby officially open the tree planting program throughout West Java,” said Sukur.

Sukur and Risma then moved to start planting trees on the edge of Kalimalang. After that, they also carried out river crossings as well as sowing fish seeds in the river.

On that occasion, Ono Surono said the tree planting was part of the National Greening Program carried out by PDIP after holding the 50th anniversary celebration.

The target is to plant 50,000 trees simultaneously in 27 regencies/cities throughout West Java.

“This activity is a series of events for the 50th anniversary of the PDIP. Of course we carry out the mandate of the General Chairperson, that all cadres after the anniversary must go down to the people,” said Ono. (mhn/bbs)
