Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The Chairperson of the PDI-P (PDIP) for Political and Security Affairs, Puan Maharani, took a healthy walk with the Chairperson of the Golkar Party, Airlangga Hartarto, at the National Monument (Monas), Jakarta, Saturday morning.
According on ANTARA’s monitoring, Airlangga arrived at Monas first in a white shirt and black pants at around 07.36 WIB, and was greeted by a number of Golkar Party elites, including Secretary General Lodewijk F Paulus, Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum) Bambang Soesatyo. , Deputy Coordinator for Election Winning Sector Ahmad Doli Kurnia, and Deputy Coordinator for Communication and Information Nurul Arifin.
Then, Puan arrived at around 07.56 WIB wearing a black T-shirt and pants, accompanied by several PDI-P elites, including Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto, Head of the Election Winning Body Bambang Wuryanto, and Chairman of the DPP for Economic Affairs Said Abdullah.
Puan’s arrival was greeted by Airlangga and the Golkar Party elites who were present.
The two of them then walked together while chatting along the Monas followed by Golkar and PDIP elites.
Previously, the plan for Puan and Airlangga to have a healthy walk together was conveyed by Said in a written statement in Jakarta, Friday (7/10).
According to Said, the healthy walk was part of a political safari carried out by Puan, as ordered by PDIP Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri, in order to communicate with the general chairmen of other political parties so that they and PDIP can jointly build the nation.
Said also said that in the meeting with Airlangga, Puan’s mission was still the same, namely to consolidate across political parties ahead of the 2024 General Election, which had one and a half years remaining.
In addition, he said, Puan would also carry a message from Megawati Soekarnoputri.
Before going on a political safari to Airlangga, Puan had a meeting with the General Chair of the NasDem Party, Surya Paloh at the NasDem Party DPP Office, Jakarta, Monday (22/8).
Then, she also met with Gerindra Party chairman Prabowo Subianto at Prabowo’s private residence, in Bogor, West Java, Sunday (4/9).
Then, on Sunday (25/9), Puan made a pilgrimage with the Chairperson of the National Awakening Party (PKB) Muhaimin Iskandar to the grave of Taufiq Kiemas, the father of Puan Maharani, at the Kalibata Heroes Restaurant, Jakarta, Sunday (25/9). (mhn/bbs)
