The Ministry of Social Affairs sent aid to flood victims in Jombang

Jombang, The Indonesia Post – The Ministry of Social Affairs sent a number of aid to flood-affected residents in Bandar Kedungmulyo Subdistrict, Jombang Regency, East Java, to ease their burden.

The Minister of Social Affairs, Tri Rismaharini, accompanied by the Regent of Jombang, Hj Mundjidah Wahab, handed over the assistance to residents affected by the floods in Bandar Kedungmulyo District, Jombang Regency.

“Unload the food cartons from the truck. The residents are waiting. Use motorbikes, don’t walk,” said Social Minister Tri Rismaharini in Jombang, Saturday.

Previously, the Minister of Social Affairs together with members of the Indonesian Parliament, Sadarestuwati, stopped at the Jombang Regency Government pavilion. The group was received by the Regent of Jombang, Mundjidah Wahab, Regional Secretary of Jombang Regency, Akhmad Jazuli, together with representatives of the Forkopimda Jombang.

The group then continued on to the location of the flood disaster, Kedung Gabus Hamlet, Bandar Kedungmulyo Village and Prayungan Hamlet, Gondang Manis Village, Bandar Kedungmulyo District, Jombang Regency.

Social Minister Risma accompanied by Regent Mundjidah Wahab distributed food for refugee children. The assistance brought by the Minister of Social Affairs included 50 packages of kidsware, 300 units of blankets, 300 folding mattresses, 300 packages of children’s food.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Jombang, Mundjidah Wahab, also expressed her gratitude to the Minister of Social Affairs who visited Jombang and provided this assistance. The Regent also thanks various parties who have been concerned about helping the residents affected by the floods in Jombang Regency.

“Lots of assistance has been given to residents affected by flooding in Bandar Kedungmulyo, both from the central, provincial and regional levels, all work together to help each other,” said the Regent.

She added, for the health post, apart from the health team from the puskesmas, there was also assistance from the Faculty of Medicine, Airlangga University.

“There are also health services that are facilitated by community organizations. Veterinarians also help for livestock health,” said the Regent.

Meanwhile, the floods in Bandar Kedungmulyo Subdistrict, Jombang Regency continued to recede. Some residents have started to return to their homes while cleaning the house.

Previously, 12 hamlets were submerged and the majority had receded. However, residents do not fully dare to stay at home, especially at night. Residents anticipate that if there is another flood, water will suddenly come. (jek/ril)
