Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Minister of Education and Culture (Mendikbud) Nadiem Anwar Makarim said that after the COVID-19 vaccination was carried out on education and education personnel, schools were encouraged to carry out face-to-face learning.
“After vaccinating education and education personnel, face-to-face learning is increasingly being encouraged and accelerated for all early childhood, primary and secondary education units,” said Nadiem during a working meeting with Commission X DPR which was monitored in Jakarta, Wednesday.
He explained face-to-face learning needs to be accelerated by continuing to carry out health protocols and also COVID-19 vaccination.
Before vaccinating educators and education personnel, local governments are expected to accelerate face-to-face learning in accordance with the conditions of the education unit.
Thus, Nadiem hopes that the loss of learning opportunities due to the COVID-19 pandemic will not continue.
“After vaccinating educators and education personnel, face-to-face learning is allowed for higher education. But everything is determined by the chancellor’s decision whether to start face-to-face lectures or not, “he said.
The government is targeting as many as 5.5 million educators and education personnel to get vaccinated against COVID-19 by the end of June 2021. Priority for vaccination is based on the difficulty level of distance learning which consists of three stages.
The first stage is PAUD, SD, SLB and equivalent educators and education personnel. The second stage is educators and education personnel for SMP, SMA, SMK, and the equivalent. The third stage is educators and higher education education personnel.
The basic education level gets priority because at that level many experienced difficulties in carrying out distance education (PJJ) during the COVID-19 pandemic. (rmt/bbs)
