Bali, The Indonesia Post – The G20 Summit which took place in Bali on 15-16 November 2022 succeeded in ratifying the Leaders’ Declaration.
Based on the declaration document received by ANTARA in Nusa Dua, Bali on Wednesday, several G20 heads of state agreed, among others, the need to enforce international law and the multilateral system, deal with economic crises including through international macro policy cooperation, strive for food and energy security, and adopt digital technology. to encourage innovation.
In addition, the G20 leaders also called for a shared commitment to achieving the Sustainable Development Targets (SDGs), tackling climate change, and strengthening the health sector.
Finally, the leaders welcomed Indonesia’s efforts as president of the G20 this year to formulate priority issues and coordinated international cooperation from member countries, invited countries, as well as regional and international organizations.
Indonesian President Joko Widodo at the opening of the G20 Summit in Bali emphasized that all discussions at the summit must not fail to produce something useful for the world.
“Today the eyes of the world are on our meeting. Are we going to score success? Or will it add one more failure rate? For me, the G20 must succeed and must not fail,” said Jokowi in front of the leaders and delegates of the G20 countries.
Jokowi emphasized that as president of the G20, Indonesia has made every effort to bridge very deep and very wide differences.
However, he said, success will only be achieved if all leaders and delegates, without exception, are committed, work hard, set aside differences to produce something concrete, something useful for the world.
Under the grand theme of the G20 Indonesia presidency, namely “Recover Together, Recover Stronger”, the Bali Leaders’ Declaration 2022 contains 52 statement points as well as various communiques and documents resulting from discussions of all G20 engagement groups.
After officially closing the G20 Summit, Indonesia handed over the next G20 presidency to India. (mhn/bbs)
