Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The Chief of Army Staff (Kasad) General Indonesia National Army (TNI) Dudung Abdurachman visited the Royal Military College (RMC) Duntroon which is the Candradimuka Crater of the Australian Military Academy in Canberra, ACT, Monday.
During the visit, General Dudung reviewed the educational facilities, learning activities, training of the cadets, and met face-to-face with representatives of Indonesian Army officers who are currently studying at RMC Duntroon.
The former Commander of the Kostrad advised the Army personnel who carried out the exchange program at RMC Duntroon to carry out this assignment as well as possible in order to improve the quality of the prospective Army leaders so that they would be able to respond to the challenges of future advancements.
“You as ambassadors of the nation must maintain your good name by studying and practicing here well. The knowledge and experience you gain here will be your provision when you are in service to bring the TNI, especially the Army, to be more advanced and strong,” he said in a press release.
General Dudung’s series of visits ended with a lunch with the Australian Army Chief of Staff and the signing of the Australian Army and Australian Army Cooperation Book entitled “Diggers and Serdadu”.
On the same day, Kasad paid a courtesy call to Australian Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Simon Stuart at Australian Army Headquarters-Russell Offices, Canberra.
Both armies are optimistic that the intensity of the meetings and communication between the two armies will further improve the quality of military cooperation, both ongoing and in the future.
General Dudung revealed the importance of bilateral cooperation between the two armies in the Asia-Pacific region.
“The presence of the Indonesian and Australian Armies plays an important role for regional stability. Therefore, it is necessary to establish closer cooperation in the field of military education and training between the Indonesian Army and the Australian Army,” said Dudung. (mhn/bbs)
