South Sumatra Provincial Government Budgets IDR 7.4 Billion for Gandus Flyover

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The South Sumatra Provincial Government has budgeted IDR 7.4 billion from the South Sumatra Regional Budget for the Flyover located on Jalan Lettu Karim Kadir, Karang Jaya Village, Gandus District, Palembang.

The Governor of South Sumatra, Herman Deru, said that the construction of the Gandus Flyover is targeted to be completed in 210 days or completed in December 2025.

“As promised, the construction of Jalan Lettu Karim Kadir began in April. Today the official work begins with the symbolic drilling of piles,” said Deru, Tuesday (4/29/2025).

He said that based on the results of the sondir analysis, the soil layer up to a depth of 20 meters in the area is mud. So it is prone to movement when exposed to pressure, the solution is to build a flyover using the pile slab method.

“With this construction, it will slightly disrupt the activities of the surrounding community and cause discomfort. I also thank the Mayor of Palembang, Ratu Dewa for his support in land acquisition, we are committed to providing comfort for the people of Palembang,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the PU Bina Marga and Spatial Planning Agency of South Sumatra, M. Affandi said that the land clearing process has been completed.

“The public can still use the road during construction. The flyover will be built on the side of the existing road with a length of 100 meters, a width of 6.8 meters, and a height of 1.5 meters from the road surface,” he said.

He appealed to all parties to cooperate so that the construction of the flyover runs smoothly.

“We hope that the public will also maintain this flyover after it is completed, so that its function can be enjoyed in the long term. This project is expected to improve connectivity and comfort for the people of Palembang, especially in the Gandus area, as well as being real evidence of the South Sumatra Provincial Government’s commitment to building sustainable infrastructure,” he said.
