Holding a Joint Roll Call and Halal Bihalal 2026, the Governor of South Sumatra Emphasizes Loyalty and Efficiency Amidst the Global Situation

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Kicking off the workday after the long Eid al-Fitr holiday, the South Sumatra Provincial Government held a joint roll call and Halal Bihalal gathering in the courtyard of the South Sumatra Governor’s Office on Monday (March 30, 2026). Led by South Sumatra Governor H. Herman Deru, the event served as a forum for strengthening ties and reinforcing discipline among all state officials.

This roll call was attended by echelon 3 and 4 structural officials, all ASN within the South Sumatra Provincial Government OPD, as well as the Principals of Senior High Schools, Vocational High Schools, and Special Needs Schools throughout South Sumatra.

“After a long holiday, we can gather again to greet each other and socialize. Perhaps some of you didn’t get a chance to meet during Eid, so now is the time. I hope we can all forgive each other and let there be no more hatred,” the Governor began his remarks.

On behalf of himself and the Deputy Governor, he also conveyed Minal Aidin Wal Faizin, apologizing physically and mentally to all participants of the roll call.

The Governor emphasized that civil servant status carries significant responsibilities as public servants. He instructed all employees to return to work with high discipline and prioritize loyalty and dedication in serving the people of South Sumatra.

HD asked ASN not to be apathetic towards the global situation that is starting to impact regional policies, namely ASN is obliged to understand the main tasks and functions (tupoksi) and support central government policies. Efficiency is not a barrier, but rather a way to ensure the “breath” of development in South Sumatra continues to run.

In addition, in response to the current issue of efficiency, the Governor provided certainty for Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK).

“We must not be civil servants who are indifferent to the situation. I assure you that efficiency issues are currently trending, especially regarding the PPPK (Commissioned Personnel Personnel). PPPK within the South Sumatra Provincial Government will continue to thrive,” he stressed. (mhn/ril)
