Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru, officially inaugurated Heni Sri Wahyuni, S.Kom., M.T.I., as Head of the Regional Office VII of the National Civil Service Agency (BKN) Palembang. The inauguration ceremony took place at Griya Agung Palembang on Tuesday (July 22, 2025).
In his remarks, Governor Herman Deru welcomed Heni Sri Wahyuni to the South Sumatra–Bangka Belitung–Bengkulu–Jambi (Sumbagsel) region. He emphasized that BKN is a true partner for local governments, particularly in addressing challenges related to civil service governance and human resource management.
“There are several obstacles, especially regarding human resources. Newly established regions often lack sufficient personnel, which hampers government administration,” said Herman Deru.
He also highlighted issues concerning Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK), expressing hopes that the allocation would be clarified to avoid placing excessive burdens on regional government budgets.
In addition, the Governor called for greater consideration in assigning PPPK employees to areas where they are most needed.
Deputy Head of BKN RI, Haryomo Dwi Putranto, explained that Regional Office VII BKN Palembang carries the second-highest workload after Makassar.
This office oversees a total of 320,804 civil servants (ASN) spread across four provinces: South Sumatra, Bangka Belitung Islands, Bengkulu, and Jambi.
“Of course, this is not an easy task. It requires synergy and collaboration. The government has outlined an action plan to build effective and efficient governance,” said Haryomo Dwi Putranto. (mhn/ril)
