The South Sumatra Provincial Government’s Ramadan Recitation 1447H has been closed. Herman Deru urges stakeholders to control inflation and strengthen zakat

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra (Sumsel) H. Herman Deru officially closed the series of activities of the 1447 H/2026 M Ramadhan Recitation of the South Sumatra Provincial Government together with the Forkopimda, Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD), BUMN/BUMD, religious and community leaders at Griya Agung Palembang, Monday (16/3/2026).

Starting his remarks, Governor Herman Deru expressed his gratitude to all agencies and individuals who had hosted the South Sumatra Provincial Government’s Ramadan Safari series during this holy month.

“Thank you to the preachers who have guided the congregation, so that this Ramadan worship can hopefully increase faith and piety, while also encouraging better work ethic and discipline,” he said.

On the occasion, Herman Deru also touched on the importance of maintaining price and inflation stability ahead of Eid al-Fitr. He believed this stability could be maintained thanks to the synergy of various parties.

“At one point, we worked together to control inflation. Thank God, the situation remains stable. Thank you to the Regional Military Commander, the Regional Police Chief, and all stakeholders for the food movement that has provided peace of mind for our community during Eid,” he added.

Herman Deru also reminded all OPD ranks to be more active in paying zakat through the National Zakat Agency (Baznas), including through Bank Sumsel Babel, to support more optimal zakat management.

At the end of his remarks, Herman Deru expressed his gratitude for the contributions of all parties in making the series of activities of the South Sumatra Provincial Government’s Ramadan Safari a success this year.

“Hopefully, we can all meet again next year in Ramadan in good health and full of blessings,” he concluded.

Also in attendance were the South Sumatra Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda), the Deputy Governor of South Sumatra, H. Cik Ujang, the Chairperson of the South Sumatra Provincial Family Welfare Movement (TP PKK), Hj. Feby Herman Deru, a member of the Regional Representative Council (DPD RI), Hj. Ratu Tenny Leriva, the South Sumatra Regional Secretary, Edward Candra, the Chairperson of the South Sumatra Regional Leadership Council (DPW), Desi Kasnayati Edward,
