Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru received the Management of the Indonesian Farmers’ Association (HKTI) of South Sumatra in the context of a friendly gathering in the Guest Room of the Governor of South Sumatra (Tuesday, 17/3/2026).
On that occasion, the Chairman of HKTI South Sumatra Province, Dr. H. Budiarto Marsul, SE, M.Si conveyed the purpose of his visit with his staff in order to introduce the management of HKTI South Sumatra Province for the 2025-2030 period and at the same time invite the Governor of South Sumatra to confirm the inauguration of the new management on April 23, 2026.
He also hopes that the South Sumatra Provincial Government can help ensure that the inauguration can be carried out smoothly and can attract a crowd of at least 3,000 people.
Responding to the matter conveyed, Herman Deru supported the implementation of the inauguration and invited a crowd of thousands of people.
“Responding to what you said earlier, I certainly resonate with you, as I’ve known this organization personally since second grade. If we’re talking about inauguration, we should choose agricultural-based regions like Banyuasin, Ogan Ilir, East Oku, Musi Rawas, and other regencies/cities,” HD said.
HD also requested that HKTI immediately communicate with its branches to determine who is most prepared and that the provincial government will support the inauguration.
“East OKU, East Buai Madang District. This is the location we’ve agreed on for now. Please communicate with the Regent,” said HD.
In addition, HD hopes that while waiting for the inauguration day, it would be good if HKTI already had a Strategic Plan to support the steps of the South Sumatra Provincial Government in making policies in the agricultural sector.
“HKTI’s role is not that of a competitor, but rather a driving force for the provincial government, which has the function of encouraging. Therefore, we hope that while waiting for HKTI’s inauguration, they will immediately formulate a strategic plan for agricultural development in this province,” HD concluded.
Also in attendance were the heads of regional government agencies (OPD) in South Sumatra Province. (mhn/ril)
