Herman Deru: Employment Insurance is a Need for Workers

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Starting his work agenda, on Monday (16/11/20) morning, the Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru received an audience for the Deputy Director of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Sumbagsel and his entourage in the Bina Praja meeting room, Monday (15/11).

The arrival of this group was in order to report the development of the BPJS Employment program in South Sumatra as well as the socialization of the 2020 Paritrana Award.

On this occasion, Deputy Director of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan for the Sumbagsel Region, Arief Budiarto, was present accompanied by the Assistant Deputy

Director of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan for the Sumbagsel Region, Yose Rizal, Head of the Palembang BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Branch Office Zain Setyadi, Head of KSI Palembang BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Branch Fiterman Aris, as well as Head of KSP Palembang BPJE Employment Branch Agus Theodorus.

“We are very grateful today, Governor Herman Deru received our arrival. Apart from visiting, we are also visiting to report several things related to BPJS Employment programs and activities for the welfare of the community, especially the working community, “said Arif starting the meeting.

Some of the things that Arif reported were regarding the coverage share for the period of October 2020. Where as a whole the contribution of the coverage share of the South Sumatra Province in the West Sumatra Regional Office was 36% (2,916,275 participants from the total participants in South Sumatra 7,952,597 consisting of participation ( Recipients of Wages (PU), Not Recipients of Wages (BPU), and Construction Services (Jakon)).

Of the five provinces in West Sumatra, the potential in South Sumatra is very promising. One of them is construction service membership, “explained Arif.

Responding to the report, South Sumatra Governor H. Herman Deru said he was still optimistic that South Sumatra’s coverage share could still be increased by up to 63%. This is in line with the vision and mission of creating a healthy South Sumatra community.

“I want this health insurance to be a necessity for the community, especially workers,” he said.

On that occasion the Governor of South Sumatra H. Herman Deru was seen accompanied by Acting Assistant I for Government and Welfare Affairs of the South Sumatra Provincial Government, Drs.H. Akhmad Najib, SH.M Hum, Head of the South Sumatra Communication and Information Agency, H. Achmad Rizwan S.STP, MM, as well as the Head of the South Sumatra Provincial Government Public Relations and Protocol Bureau, Rika Efianti SE.MM. (jekk/ril)
