Palembang, The Indonesia Post – South Sumatra Governor H. Herman Deru (HD) said that to support the spirit of basketball in South Sumatra, he will build basketball court facilities in every school in South Sumatra.
He expressed this when he opened the South Sumatra Series Developmental Basketball League (DBL) 2021 which took place at the Dempo JSC Sports Hall.
In his speech, HD said that he welcomed the basketball sport event which was held because this could be a place to measure the ability of high school basketball players in South Sumatra.
“Apart from that, this can also motivate them to improve their abilities and pursue achievements”, said HD.
In addition, HD also emphasized that every sport in South Sumatra must be managed professionally, let alone competitive sports.
“And hopefully in the future the basketball sport in South Sumatra will be more developed by improving the quality of professional athletes from South Sumatra,” said HD.
Ending his speech, HD hopes that this event can become a benchmark and evaluation of the basketball coaching process in the country.
