Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said the products of domestic Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) must be placed in front windows of shopping centers (malls).
“Give the best places for our MSMEs to introduce and market their products. Place UMKM products in the front windows of shopping centers, “said President Jokowi as quoted from the official website setkab.go.id, Jakarta.
This statement was made by President Jokowi when he opened the Joglosemar Festival virtually from the Bogor Presidential Palace.
The President said that domestic MSME products must be supported by all parties, including through various marketing efforts. Apart from shopping centers, domestic MSME products also need to be placed in various storefronts at airports, toll road resorts, tourist attractions, and other strategic places.
“Prepare more space and interesting virtual events, so that our MSME products will be increasingly recognized and desirable so that people will love and be proud of Indonesian products,” he said.
MSME, said the President, are an important pillar for economic revival. This is because the MSME sector is spread all over the country with a variety of business treasures.
“MSMEs also involve many local residents, create new jobs, and are able to absorb a lot of workforce,” he said.
The President hopes that the momentum of the National Awakening Day (Harkitnas) on Thursday (20/5) can also be a momentum to accelerate the awakening of MSME products so that they are able to produce high quality products, dominate the domestic market and be competitive in the global market.
“MSME has been graduating,” he said.
In order to realize that MSMEs are graduating, said the Head of State, the government through the relevant ministries/institutions has launched the Proud National Movement Made in Indonesia in 2020.
Through this national movement, it is hoped that MSMEs will start using digital platforms as a means of business development.
“We continue to fix the business ecosystem for MSMEs, the Job Creation Law has also provided business facilities for MSMEs, cut complicated and overlapping regulations, made it easier for MSMEs to open new businesses,” explained President Jokowi. (rma/bbs)
