Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) in commemorating the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad SAW 1445 Hijriah, Thursday, said that the life of the Prophet was a role model for all people.
“The birth of the Prophet Muhammad SAW was a blessing. “His life is a role model for all people,” said President Jokowi in a statement on his official account on Instagram @jokowi quoted in Jakarta, Thursday.
In his upload, President Jokowi congratulated him on celebrating the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad SAW 1445 Hijriah.
Jokowi invites people to make life more useful by remembering all the teachings and sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad SAW.
“By remembering all the teachings and sunnah, let’s make our lives more useful for society, the nation and the world,” said Jokowi.
Previously, the Minister of Religion, Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, said that the momentum of the Prophet’s birthday was a reminder for Muslims to continue to walk in goodness and humanity as exemplified by Rasulullah SAW.
“The Messenger of Allah is an example in speaking and behaving. Rasulullah is an example of kindness and humanity. Maulid is a moment for us to understand the journey of life together, as well as learn from the kindness and humanity of Rasulullah,” said Yaqut.
Yaqut said that kindness and humanity were reflected in the dialogue between Rasulullah SAW and his wife, Siti Khadijah. The dialogue is recorded in the Sahih Bukhari hadith narrated from Ibn Shihab from Urwah bin Az Zubair from Aisyah.
This hadith explains the beginning of the revelation. It is reported that after receiving the first revelation in Hira’ Cave, Prophet Muhammad SAW immediately went home to meet Khadijah bint Khuwailid RA and asked to be covered.
Khadijah then covered her husband, until Rasulullah calmed down and told him about what he had just experienced (receiving the first revelation).
In the story, Rasulullah told Khadijah that he was afraid of what had just happened to him.
Khadijah answered “No, absolutely not, by Allah, Allah will not humiliate you forever, because you are a source of friendship, help those in need, relieve those who have nothing, honor guests, and help for the truth.”
The dialogue in this history, said the Minister of Religion, reflects that the Messenger of Allah was well known and had a high sense of humanity by the Quraysh community, since before he was appointed as the messenger of Allah SWT.
“Come on, let’s make the momentum of this birthday, among other things, emulate the figure of the Prophet who liked to build relationships, help those in need, relieve people who don’t have enough, honor guests, and help for the truth,” said Yaqut in his message.
Meanwhile, Deputy Chairperson of the MUI Anwar Ababs said that the commemoration of the birthday of the Prophet Muhammad SAW should be used as a momentum for self-reflection on what humans have done while living in the world.
“The Prophet told us to think and do the best we can, so that our lives are safe and successful not only in this world but also in the afterlife,” he said. (mhn/bbs)
