Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The inauguration of the UPTD Environmental Laboratory Building was carried out by the Governor of South Sumatra H Herman Deru in conjunction with the Commemoration of World Environment Day and the Commemoration of National Wildlife and Animals Day (HCPSN).
HD said that the nature created by God Almighty is a moral responsibility and must both maintain the ecosystem of the environment. Natural ecosystems must continue to be preserved because they are an ecological system formed by the inseparable reciprocal relationship between living things and their environment.
“Environmental destruction that occurs in all parts of the world causes natural anger and this all happens because of human greed without thinking about the environmental impact, that is the reason behind the construction of the Environmental Laboratory UPTD Building to protect natural ecosystems and their environment,” HD explained.
HD added, this lab is the first in Indonesia and number five in the world to function to back up environmental ecosystems and this lab must be active in solving environmental problems.
“A bad environment must be blamed by the governor, such as forest fires. I invite all people to protect the environment. Let’s be productive without harming nature,” concluded HD.
On that occasion, Governor Herman Deru awarded the Best Adiwiyata Coach in supporting the PBHLS movement in 2021
Head of Environmental and Land Affairs Office of the Prov. Sumsel Drs. Edward Candra, MH said that there are three agendas: the first is the inauguration of the lab building, the second is the World Environment Day and the Day of Love for Puspa and Animals (HCPSN) which is celebrated every 5 November.
Also present were the Mayor of Palembang H. Harnojoyo, Pj. Regent of Muara Enim H. Nasrun Umar, Deputy Regent of Banyuasin H. Slamet Somosentono, S.H., Chairman of DPRD Prov. Sumsel, Hj. R.A. Anita Noeringhati, and the Heads of OPD Prov. South Sumatra. (jek/ril)
