COVID-19 Task Force: 231,933 people receive booster vaccines

Jakarta, The Indonesia Post – The COVID-19 Task Force reported that 231,933 people had received booster vaccines, according to data compiled in Jakarta on Sunday.

So far, as many as 54,567,854 residents in Indonesia have received the COVID-19 booster vaccine.

In addition, there was an increase in the number of recipients of the first COVID-19 vaccine to 34,340 people.

The total number of perpetrators of COVID-19 vaccination in Indonesia so far is 202,197,732 people.

In addition, 34,768 Indonesians have undergone a second vaccination. So there are 169,817,932 people who have undergone complete vaccination.

Lead Co-Chair of Global Health Security and COVID-19 Task Force T20 Indonesia Prof Hasbullah Thabrany reiterated that the third dose of COVID-19 vaccination (booster) is very important for people at risk, including children, during the pandemic.

He said that flu vaccines such as COVID-19 usually don’t last a lifetime, as in the case of polio. Therefore, it is necessary to inject a booster vaccine at periods when the antibodies produced from the vaccine in the body are reduced. (ojn/bbs)
