South Sumatra Legislative Council Chairperson Requests Access to ‘Indraprabu Toll Road’ Pay Attention to Architectural Ornaments with Typical Nuances of South Sumatra

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Chairperson of the Legislative Council (DPRD) of South Sumatra Province Hj. R.A. Anita Noeringhati, SH., MH asked PT Hutama Karya (HK) as the contractor for the construction of the Indralaya Prabumulih (Indraprabu) Toll Road to pay attention to building ornaments with typical South Sumatran architectural nuances.

This was revealed by the first woman who served as chairman of the South Sumatra DPRD during monitoring the construction of the Indraprabu toll road, Tuesday (07/02/2023).

“I propose to HK for toll gates and rest areas to use regionally distinctive ornaments such as climbing stairs,” she suggested.

It is said, the South Sumatra Provincial Government has issued regional regulation (Perda) number 2 of 2021 concerning the architecture of buildings with ornaments of cultural identity in South Sumatra.

“This can be taken as an example as a form of support for the local wisdom of South Sumatra Province,” she asked.

It is known that the 64.5 kilometer Indraprabu Toll Road is targeted for completion in March 2023. RA Anita’s group tried the toll road until they observed the construction process of the rest area at kilometer 55.

“The journey from Indralaya IC to the 55 kilometer rest area is good, smooth and not bumpy so it is comfortable to pass. Hopefully, the results will reach Prabumulih as targeted,” she hoped.

Meanwhile, Project Director of the Indralaya-Prabumulih Toll Road Sarjono explained, the progress of land acquisition for the construction of the Indralaya-Prabumulih toll road has been completed 96 percent.

“The progress of the land is 96.04 percent. But construction can still be done. Right now it’s going well,” she said.

She also confirmed that in March 2023, the Indralaya-Prabumulih toll road could be operated.

“Eid al-Fitr can be passed later, even though it is at the completion stage,” she concluded. (ojn/ril)
