Chairperson of the South Sumatra Legislative Council Attended the Pelita Air Inaugural Flight Ceremony

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Chairperson of the Legislative Council (DPRD) of South Sumatra Province, Mrs. Hj. R.A. Anita Noeringhati, SH., MH., Attended the Pelita Air Inaugural Flight Ceremony with the JAKARTA – PALEMBANG – JAKARTA Route, which was held at Palembang’s Sultan Mahmud Badarudin II Airport. The Pelita Air airline officially flew for the first time by opening a new flight at Palembang’s Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin (SMB) II International Airport, South Sumatra Province (South Sumatra), as of today Wednesday (12/4/2023).

Operational Director of Pelita Air Heru Susilo said, today Wednesday (12/4) the flight area for the Sumatra region was also inaugurated, namely Palembang, Padang and Pekanbaru flights.
As for today’s inaugural flight Palembang – Jakarta, Pelita Air’s occupancy from Jakarta to Palembang reached 80 percent.

“As for the Palembang – Jakarta flight, it reaches 90 percent, the enthusiasm of the people of Palembang is extraordinary,” said Heru Susilo.

He still said, for the time being the frequency of Pelita Air flights is still 1 time a day. Currently, Pelita Air is still limited in its fleet.
In the future, we will develop the fleet with a morning and evening schedule.

However, in the future, his party will develop both the frequency and flight routes from Palembang City.

“Moreover, there has been a request from the local regional government that we open existing and abandoned routes, as well as add more flight frequencies. We will do it step by step,” he said.

For this type of aircraft, we use the Airbus A320 Series 200 with a passenger capacity of 180 passengers, and currently we are still serving All Economy, he explained.

Meanwhile, Executive General Manager (EGM) of PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II-SMB II Palembang Airport, R Iwan Winaya Mahdar said, currently the number of airlines operating at SMB II Palembang International Airport is 7 airlines with 5 flight routes, namely to Jakarta, Cengkareng, Pangkal Pinang, Batam and Surabaya.

“Today there is a new airline operating Pelita Air. Of course, the presence of this new airline really supports passenger services at SMB II Airport, in particular,” he added.

Today’s inauguration and for the inaugural flight of Pelita Air Palembang – Jakarta was attended by the Chairman of the DPRD Prov Sumsel, Hj. R.A. Anita Noeringhati, SH., MH., was also attended by the Governor of South Sumatra represented by Assistant II for Economics, Finance and Development of Regional Secretariat of the South Sumatra Provincial Government H Dharma Budhi, Head of Culture and Tourism Office Aufa Syahrizal, Production Director of Pelita Air Heru Susilo, along with staff.
