The governor of Central Java opens a complaint service to prevent extortion

Semarang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, specifically opened a channel for public complaints as an effort to prevent various practices of extortion at state-level high schools, vocational schools, and special schools.

Information regarding the complaint channel was uploaded by the official Instagram account @ganjar_pranowo which was accessed in Semarang, Thursday.

In the upload, Ganjar said residents who find extortion practices against students and parents or guardians of students at SMA, SMK and State SLB in Central Java should be able to report via the Whatsapp application 082329615325 or via the Instagram account @pdkjaateng or via the website and application LaporGub! .

Some of the levies that are categorized as extortion include building fees, tuition fees (educational development contributions), infaq, tours, graduations, and other types of levies in any form.

In addition, the procurement of uniforms may only be carried out independently by students, parents and guardians of students and it is not permitted to procure school uniforms through education units, school cooperatives, teachers, organizations, school institutions, shop appointments, associations.

The step of the number one person in Central Java to open a complaint channel received a positive response from a number of netizens, such as the account @harun.arrayid_sag which gave appreciation to the Central Java Provincial Government who are committed to eradicating extortion practices in Central Java.

“The highest appreciation for the Central Java government regarding eradicating extortion. I’m proud to be a citizen of Central Java,” he wrote.

The same goes for the account @safiraharuti21 which supports 100 percent of Governor Ganjar Pranowo’s efforts to eradicate extortion practices.

“Oh, it’s clear that this is something that needs to be supported 100%, I’m sorry to know that students’ parents have to pay for things that shouldn’t be their responsibility,” he added.

The same goes for the account @miakhansasetya17 which invites residents to participate in fighting extortion in Central Java, by reporting if they know of extortion practices.

“Yo yo yo, those who have complaints that the school is still paying, just report it immediately, yok!!!,” he wrote.

The Central Java Provincial Government during the Ganjar leadership era facilitated residents who wished to report extortion practices through the LaporGub! application.

Based on data from LaporGub! a total of 284 complaints of levy complaints at schools per district/city from 1 January 2023 to 10 July 2023 were recorded.

Of the total complaint data, 152 complaints have been processed, 69 are in the verification stage, 45 are in progress, 17 complaints are categorized as spam, and one complaint has not been answered. (mhn/bbs)
