HD: New Energy Innovations Must Be Supported by Regulations

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – The Governor of South Sumatra, H. Herman Deru, said that in order for renewable energy innovation to run smoothly, everyone needs regulatory support that benefits the community.

This was stated when he was a resource person at the National Workshop with the theme “1001 New Energy for the Country from the Sriwijaya Earth” and the presentation of awards in the context of the 11th anniversary of the South Sumatra Tribune was held by the Sriwijaya Post – Sumsel Tribune.

“Regulations are really needed. So that the regions have authority, don’t let anyone go around. Give regulations that are easy and affordable and benefit the community,” said Governor Herman Deru (HD).

HD continued, We are not lacking in investment, the volume of waste is also not, the infrastructure and human resources are ready. Then why didn’t it happen? It’s in regulation.

“It is hoped that the media will play a role in socializing it, like Pagaralam being able to protect the watershed so that hydroelectric power (micro-hydro) is born which can cover everything. It is the only one in the world, Pagaralam city is covered by new and renewable energy. But the promotion is still not optimal, even though the President has been there HD said.

The role of the province is to socialize and stimulate electric vehicles, at least at every level of the sub-district there is an electric bicycle to encourage people to use vehicles without emissions.

“Thank you to the Sumsel Tribune for holding this event. Congratulations on the award to all Regents/Mayors from the South Sumatran Tribune directly with new innovations, hoping for zero emissions and South Sumatra to become a pioneer of renewable energy” closed HD.

On that occasion HD handed over awards to the Mayor and District and PT PLN, Semen Baturaja Pusri, Bukit Asam for innovation. (mhn/ril)
