9 Fractions South Sumatra Legislative Council Convey General Views on the Raperda APBD for the 2024 FY

Palembang, The Indonesia Post – Nine factions in the Legislative Council (DPRD) of South Sumatra Province (Sumsel) conveyed their general views on the Draft Regional Regulation (Raperda) of the Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) of South Sumatra Province for Fiscal Year (FY/TA) 2024 at the LXIX Plenary Meeting (69) of the South Sumatra DPRD, Friday ( 18/8).

The plenary session was chaired by Deputy Chairman of the DPRD of South Sumatra, Hj. Kartika Sandra Desi, SH, MM was attended by the Deputy Governor of South Sumatra; Ir. H. Mawardi Yahya and Regional Secretary; Ir. S.A. Supriono, Secretary of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD; H. Aprizal, S.Ag, SE, M.Sc, OPD representatives and other invited guests.

Submission of General Views of the Prov. DPRD Factions. South Sumatra was started by the Golkar Party faction delivered by Drs. Tamrin, M.Si continued by the PDIP Faction; Hj. Rita Suryani, then Gerindra Faction; Maliono, SH, Democratic Party faction delivered by Ir. M. Kanoviyandri.

Then the PKB faction was delivered by Fathan Qoribi, ST, the Nasdem Party faction was delivered by Dr. Ir. H. Syamsul Bahri, MM, The general view of the PKS faction was presented by Mgs. H. Syaiful Padli, ST., MM, the PAN Fraction was delivered by H. Juanda Hanafiah, SH, MM, ending with the presentation of the Hanura Perindo Fraction; Ahmad Firdaus Ishak, SE., M.Sc.

These nine factions highlight the Budget, related to Regional Original Revenue, Regional Expenditures. Among them, the faction conveyed that in terms of overcoming the decline in income from tax levies, the depth of which is due to the low level of awareness of taxpayers and levies, it is suggested that they continue to improve the quality of service, then question what causes the reduction in revenue targets in 2024, requesting an explanation for increasing grant spending.

Also asking for an explanation regarding unexpected spending, what are the obstacles to budget absorption not being optimal, the question is the direction of the Provincial Government’s innovation policy for increasing the tax sector on LRT which must be reflected in MRT management in Jakarta.

Apart from that, he suggested that spending be consistent with the RPJM and used for the interests and needs of the community, then questioned steps to reduce external financing, and others appreciated the preparation of a draft budget that was in accordance with applicable regulations.

After submitting the General View of the Factions, the Plenary Meeting was suspended to further provide an opportunity for the executive to prepare answers to the general views referred to, the answers to which will be submitted at the upcoming plenary meeting with the Governor’s Answer Agenda on the General Views of the Factions on the Raperda APBD Sumsel TA 2024.
