Palembang, The Indonesia Post – South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru officially inaugurated seven acting regents and mayors at Griya Agung, Palembang City, Monday.
The respective Acting, namely Fauzan Khoiri as Acting Regent of Empat Lawang, Lusapta Kurnia Yudha as Acting Mayor of Pagaralam, Ratu Dewa as Acting Mayor of Palembang, Ahmad Rizali as Acting Regent of Muara Enim, Hani Sopiar Rustam as Acting Regent of Banyuasin. Then, Trisko Defriyansa as Acting Mayor of Lubuklinggau City, and Elman as Acting Mayor of Prabumulih City.
Deru conveyed a message to the acting regents and mayors who were appointed and are now serving as three elements of leadership, namely leaders of government, development and society.
Then, be polite to society. Because, after taking office, the officials will return to being state civil servants (ASN).
“I really ask that you be polite to the community. In Javanese it is ojo dumeh. Remember that you will return to your habitat as ASN so the legacy you leave behind must be one of kindness,” he said.
According to him, the most difficult challenge to face is the political year, namely the presidential and regional elections, therefore the newly appointed acting principal acts firmly, intelligently and remains in accordance with applicable regulations.
“Coordinate with Forkompinda, Kamtibmas, national defense, law enforcement which must operate in such a way that political stability in their respective places,” he said.
Then, the acting regents and mayors also have to deal with homework that is currently unfinished, namely efforts to reduce stunting, poverty rates, and others.
“This also includes development in ex-transmigration areas. Development in this area is a shared responsibility regardless of whose authority it is under. The acting regents and mayors must leave a legacy when they return to being ASN,” he said.
Apart from that, Deru also thanked the previous regents and mayors for their dedication and development in the respective regions they led.
“I would like to thank these gentlemen for providing their mental energy and time to serve the people in their respective regions,” he said. (mhn/ril)
