Palembang, The Indonesia Post – South Sumatra Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD) Holds the LXXI Plenary Meeting (71) with an agenda for announcing the dismissal of the Regional Head and Deputy Regional Head whose term of office ends in 2023. The Plenary Meeting is chaired by the Chair of the Provincial DPRD. South Sumatra; Hj. RA, Anita Noeringhati, SH, MH, accompanied by the Deputy Chairmen of the Provincial DPRD. South Sumatra; Hj. Kartika Sandra Desi, SH, MM and H. Muchendi M, SE, attended by the Governor of South Sumatra; H. Herman Deru, SH, MM and Deputy Governor of South Sumatra; Ir. H. Mawardi Yahya and Regional Secretary; Ir. S.A. Supriono, OPD Representatives and other invited guests. Friday (01/09/2023).
Starting the Plenary Meeting; The Chairman of the Meeting explained the background to the Plenary Meeting being held:
_”As is known, the term of office of the Governor and Deputy Governor of South Sumatra will end on October 1 2023. In connection with the above, based on the provisions of article 79 paragraph (1) of Law number 23 of 2014 concerning Regional Government, it is confirmed that ” the dismissal of the regional head and/or deputy regional head as intended in Article 78 paragraph (1) letter a and letter b and paragraph (2) letter a and letter b shall be announced by the DPRD Leadership in a plenary meeting and proposed by the DPRD Leadership to the President through the Minister to the Governor and/or Deputy Governor as well as to ministers through the Governor as representatives of the Central Government for the Regent and/or Deputy Regent or Mayor and/or Deputy Mayor to obtain a dismissal decision”_
_”Regarding the matter above, the DPRD of South Sumatra Province has received a letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia number. 131/2188/otda dated 24 March 2022 regarding the proposal to dismiss the Regional Head and Deputy Regional Head whose term of office ends in 2022. where the letter states that the proposal to dismiss the Governor and/or Deputy Governor as well as the proposal to dismiss the Regent and/or Deputy Regent or “The Mayor and/or Deputy Mayor shall be submitted to the Minister of Home Affairs no later than 30 (thirty) days before the end of the term of office of the Governor and/or Deputy Governor, Regent and/or Deputy Regent and Mayor and/or Deputy Mayor”_ Clearly Chairman of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD
To follow up on the letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs, a plenary session was held today:
_”Following up to the letter from the Ministry of Home Affairs, the South Sumatra Province DPRD Deliberative Body on June 27 2023 has set a schedule for today’s plenary meeting in order to announce the dismissal of the Governor and Deputy Governor of South Sumatra for the 2018-2023 term. In this regard, the DPRD of South Sumatra Province has received a letter from the Minister of Home Affairs number: 100.2.1.3/4445/sj dated 21 August 2023 p. proposed names of candidates for Acting Governor addressed to the Chair of the DPRD of South Sumatra Province”_
_”For this reason, on the occasion of today’s plenary meeting, the DPRD of South Sumatra Province will announce the dismissal of the Governor and Deputy Governor of South Sumatra and at the same time sign the minutes of the plenary meeting of the DPRD of South Sumatra Province regarding the announcement of the dismissal of the Governor and Deputy Governor of South Sumatra for the 2018-2023 term of office. “_ explained the Chairman of the Provincial DPRD. South Sumatra.
Furthermore, the Chairman of the Meeting explained that the Plenary was part of fulfilling the administrative requirements for the Governor’s dismissal:
_”It needs to be conveyed that today’s plenary meeting is one of the processes to fulfill administrative requirements for the dismissal of the Governor and Deputy Governor whose terms of office will end in 2023. Next, an announcement will be read of the dismissal of regional heads and deputy regional heads whose terms of office will end in 2023. 2023.”_ continued the Chairman of the Plenary Meeting.
Next, the procession for signing the announcement and minutes of the Plenary Meeting of the Provincial DPRD was carried out. South Sumatra regarding the announcement of the dismissal of the Governor and Deputy Governor of South Sumatra for the 2018-2023 term.
The plenary meeting was continued by listening to the Governor’s speech which explained the development targets and development achievements during his tenure and hopes for the future to continue to work together in developing South Sumatra.
The plenary agenda was closed with a joint prayer led by Abdurrahman, S.Ag, M.Si
Ending the plenary session, the Chair of the South Sumatra Provincial DPRD expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Governor and Deputy Governor:
_”Before today’s Plenary Meeting ends, allow me, on behalf of the leadership and members of the South Sumatra Province DPRD, to express my gratitude for the dedication of the Governor of South Sumatra, Brother H. Herman Deru and the Deputy Governor of South Sumatra, Brother H. For the past 5 (five) years, we have collaborated and established good communication between the executive and legislature and synergized with each other to achieve advanced South Sumatra for all.
